After one of the most successful pro junior surf series in recent years, the Oakley Pro Junior is back for another year. Once again, in an effort to assemble the world's most talented young surfers in one place, for one full-on, no-holds-barred contest, this October the Oakley World Pro Junior Bali will arrive on the wave-rich shores of the Indonesian island of Bali.
To qualify, the Oakley Pro Junior series travels across the globe to some of the world's most renowned surf venues including North Stradbroke Island-Australia, Durban-South Africa, Hossegor-France, Lowers Trestles-North America, and a host of other top surf venues from Japan to Brazil.
The top eight rated male competitors and top 3 female competitors from each of the six designated ASP regions across the globe will qualify for the big dance in Indo. Last year's competition saw some of the best progressive surfing from the top juniors in the world, culminating in a tube-riding and aerial showdown with Sam Wrench of Australia taking the crown over 08 and 09 runner-up Marc Lacomare of France.
The Oakley World Pro Junior Bali will take place over a 12-day waiting period in October with four days of actual competition. Last year saw incredible conditions, lending a hand to some of the best junior surfing the world has seen to date. A truly unique competition series.
