Four Surfers Remain As 2010 Oakley Pro Junior Prepares To Enter Finals Day

ONLY four surfers remain in the running to be crowned champion of the prestigious 2010 Oakley Pro Junior with the event’s semi-finals and final to be held tomorrow on North Stradbroke Island (Queensland, Australia).

Number-one seed Mitch Crews (Currumbin, Qld), Matt Banting (Port Macquarie, NSW), Davey Cathels (Narrabeen, NSW) and Jodi Watson (South Coast, NSW) are the final four surfers left in the draw, which began earlier this week with a field of 140 of the world’s best international junior surfers. SANTA CRUZ, Calif., Nov. 8, 2009 – History was made today at the conclusion of the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Qualifying Series (WQS) 6-Star PRIME O’Neill Cold Water Classic California and Oakley Pro Junior ASP North America Championships.  The newly upgraded event offering more points and a larger prize purse than ever also saw record numbers of spectators and the biggest conditions this competition has seen in its storied history that dates back to 1985.
