SANTA CRUZ, Calif., Nov. 6, 2009 – After calling a lay day for the Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Qualifying Series (WQS) 6-Star PRIME O’Neill Cold Water Classic California yesterday, today’s action saw Steamer Lane come alive to deliver a pumping four-to-six foot swell while the event’s top seeds displayed an amazing performance of progressive surfing for the local Santa Cruz crowd. QUARTERFINALISTS DECIDED FOR OAKLEY PRO JUNIOR ASP NORTH AMERICA CHAMPIONSHIPS

SANTA CRUZ, Calif., Nov. 4, 2009 – The Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) Grade-3 Oakley Pro Junior ASP North America Championships, which runs in conjunction with the ASP World Qualifying Series (WQS) 6-Star PRIME O’Neill Cold Water Classic California, moved through Rounds 1 and 2 today in testing two-foot waves at the backup site of Waddell Creek in Santa Cruz, California, deciding the event’s Quarterfinalists. SECOND ANNUAL OAKLEY PRO JUNIOR GLOBAL CHALLENGE COMES TO A SUCCESSFUL CLOSE

(Foothill Ranch, Calif., Oct. 26, 2009) – The second annual Oakley Pro Junior Global Challenge wrapped up earlier this month after a grueling battle in excellent conditions at the Final at Keramas, Bali, Indonesia.  Crowned victorious, Australia’s Sam Wrench took home the $20,000 first-place prize check, the largest single payout in pro junior surfing, after getting a last-minute entry into the event due to Australian qualifier Owen Wright’s decision to pursue Association of Surfing Professionals (ASP) World Qualifying Series (WQS) points. AUSTRALIA’S SAM WRENCH CROWNED OAKLEY PRO JUNIOR GLOBAL CHALLENGE CHAMPION

Sam Wrench today won the prestigious Oakley Pro Junior Global Challenge 2009 final in excellent surf to 5 feet at Keramas River-mouth in Bali defeating French surfer Marc Lacomare.

The 19 year-old from Ulladulla on the south coast of NSW was overjoyed with the win, defeating an elite field of 18 of the world’s best 20 year and under Pro Junior surfers. (more…)

ONE FINALIST DECIDED AS OAKLEY PRO JUNIOR GLOBAL CHALLENGE RUNS EARLY AT KERAMAS

Remaining surfers competing in the Oakley Pro Junior Challenge Final for 2009 made their way to Keramas River-mouth in Bali early this morning to run three superb heats on prime high-tide conditions.

With a solid six-foot plus swell and ideal winds, today’s heats saw surfers committing to massive on-face maneuvers with semi-final and one final positions being decided. (more…)

OAKLEY PRO JUNIOR GLOBAL CHALLENGE ROUND ONE COMPLETED IN IDEAL SURF AT KERAMAS, BALI

After two days of perfect conditions, only six heats of the Oakley Pro Junior Global Challenge have been completed and not one the 18 select world pro juniors has been eliminated. It’s a scenario only possible in an event like the Global Challenge, which is throwing these elite juniors into a World Tour-style competition in a unique venue. (more…)
