The Break:
Labeled as the “Heart of the Sunshine Coast”, Port Alfred saddles the Kowie River splitting the small city in two. The river dumps into the Indian Ocean via two rock jetties, producing a very consistent, hollow, and powerful right-hander on the East Beach and more of a wedging and hollow A-frame to the west. The paddle can be vicious on bigger swells due to strong rip tides, but the hollow rewards are well worth the burn.

The Swell:
Port Alfred gets consistent surf all year round, loving a southwesterly swell and a touch of Northerly winds.

The Locals:
The locals in Port Alfred enjoy great surf year round with a mild climate, making it no wonder why most travelers to the area describe the locals as laid back and friendly.
