With the likes of North Narrabeen’s hometown heroes Damian hardman and Nathan Hedge paving the way, it’s no surprise that Davey Cathels has developed into one of Australia’s most talented surfers.  Whether it’s his renowned backside fin-ditch or his savvy contest skills, Davey’s performances are worthy of notic.  Davey set himself ablaze in ’08 and early ’09 by going on a competitive killing-it spree, winning the GromSearch event at Cronulla and taking an equal third at the Oakley Pro Junior at Narrabeen.  With a solid second place at Lowers under his belt, expect Davey to be charging right out of the blocks by the time he hits water in Bali this October.
